Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented R&D Product Owner to drive the development of next-generation HubSync supporting tax and accounting professionals. This role sits at the intersection of product management, research, and technology—responsible for translating domain-specific needs into functional, innovative software solutions within a fast-paced, Agile R&D environment. You’ll partner closely with project managers, software engineers, and quality assurance teams to define and prioritize features that improve automation, compliance, and workflow efficiency for our users.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for R&D-driven tax and accounting software initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders—including tax practitioners, project managers, and developers—to gather, define, and validate requirements.
- Translate complex tax concepts and compliance requirements into clear user stories and functional specifications.
- Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
- Serve as the voice of the customer and subject matter liaison during sprint planning, reviews, and daily standups.
- Ensure alignment between R&D innovation goals and practical application in product design.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify emerging trends and areas for innovation.
- Coordinate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive and compliant user experiences.
- Partner with QA to validate features meet acceptance criteria and maintain product quality.
- Track feature adoption and customer feedback post-release to inform future development cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Deep understanding of tax and accounting workflows, regulations, or compliance requirements—especially in R&D tax credit or research-heavy domains.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and tools (e.g., Scrum, Jira, Confluence).
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous ideas into clear, actionable plans.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and legal/compliance.
